The key to many works by the Castiglioni brothers is the sense of humor they were able to imbue upon a range of forms. The Servi series includes a range of hyper-specific furnishings—a ceremonial book stand, a flag pole, a sign post, an ashtray, a valet, a chainlink barricade, etc.—that develop from a vertical pole and a weighted base. While other members of the family may win on jokes, the Servomuto side table cuts both an attractive and functional figure. Good vintage condition, with scuffs and signs of use.
